Bassam Kassoumeh

Bassam Kassoumeh is an independent researcher, with over 10 years of experience in the humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding sectors. He holds a master’s degree in development studies from the University of Sussex. He has a proven track record of understanding and improving complex humanitarian contexts and responses. His research focuses mainly on localisation, community and locally led approaches. Bassam's research relies on participatory action research methodologies, allowing those affected by the research problem to fully engage with the research, improving its impact and relevance. Bassam supported the Beyond Barriers project by expanding the knowledge on current and ongoing locally led humanitarian responses.
